 The Office of Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) provides management assistance to current and prospective small business owners. SBDCs offer one-stop assistance to  individuals and small businesses by providing a wide variety of information and guidance in central and easily accessible branch locations. The program is a cooperative effort of the private sector, the educational community and federal, state and local governments and is an integral component of Entrepreneurial Development’s network of training and counseling services.

The Lebanon Office of the American Red Cross, in conjunction with KJEL Radio, is having a Radio-thon to raise money for the Lebanon Office of the Red Cross Emergency & Health and Safety Services.

Get your business (and your employees) involved by making a donation. Come by the Cowan Civic Center & present your contributions. Talk live on the Air while showing your support of the Red Cross

Your donation can help the victims of hundreds of local disasters that happen in our community each year – disaster like home fires, floods & winter storms. It will also help the Lebanon Office of the American Red Cross get messages to our men and women serving our country in the armed services as well as allow the Red Cross to help families suffering from disaster all over the United States by supporting the Hotline response. Your generosity will let the Red Cross offer our community the chance to learn first aid, CPR, babysitting expertise and other health and safety skills that will help keep all of us safe.

Your gift can ensure that the Red Cross will continue to fulfill its mission of helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our community goes to great lengths to help people in need…and we need your donation at our Radio-thon on September 10th.

Mid Missouri Credit Union Charity Golf Tournament to benefit “Homes for our Troops” September 29, 2010.

Each year the food services staff at St. Johns Hospital – Lebanon adopts a special project for the holiday season. This year they are asking for donations of gently used purses.

They will hosting a giant gently used purse and bake sale on September 28th in the conference room on the St. John’s Lebanon campus.

Please check your closets and do some late summer cleaning and bring all of your gently used purses to the hospital no later then September 21st or arrange for a pick up by calling Karen at 417-533-6192.

All proceeds benefit underserved children in our community. Thank you in advance for your kind donation and for being apart of making this Christmas a little merrier for kids in our community.

Kids just want to have fun… and they will at “The Play Academy” Day Care / Preschool located at 700 W. Fremont in Lebanon. At “The Play Academy” they want to provide your children with more than just a TV and a toy to play with while you are at work.

The Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed “They Play Academy” as new  Chamber members with a Ribbon Cutting on August 19, 2010.

The Laclede Literacy Council will hold their 6th Annual Celebrity Waiter Dinner at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church Family Center on September 09, 2010 at 6:30 pm. The holiday season is rapidly approaching, and so is the annual Christmas Parade!  This year’s date is Saturday, November 20^th.  As in previous years, we are having a NAME THE PARADE THEME contest.  The Chamber will give $100 to the person whose theme is chosen.  The theme for last year’s parade was “A Storybook Christmas”.

 Entries may be mailed to the Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 505, Lebanon, Missouri 65536; dropped off at the Chamber of Commerce office, 186 N. Adams or you may also email your entry.  Entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2010 and they should include your name and telephone number. 

 A committee made up of the Chamber, our local radio stations, the newspaper, and the parade committee will then meet to select the winning theme.  As always, we appreciate your support of this event!
